The Global Impact STEM Academy (GISA) governing board unanimously voted to select Kapp Construction as the design/build partner for the renovation of Springfield South High School, GISA’s future home.

“The renovation of South High School is a big step forward for the Global Impact STEM Academy and our community as a whole,” says GISA board member Daren Cotter. “We will have a state-of-the-art learning facility inside a magnificent work of historic architecture.”

Kapp is teaming with Steve Sharp of McCall Sharp Architecture to renovate 32,450 square feet of the historic former South High School as part of Phase I of a three-phase project.

“Kapp Construction is honored to have been selected as the design/builder for this project,” says company president Randy Kapp. “As an alumnus, I am thrilled with the opportunity to see South High School revitalized and I believe it will be the perfect location for the Global Impact STEM Academy to grow and prosper.”

While the fundraising efforts continue, design development drawings have been finalized and preparations are currently underway to begin construction.
