Clark County Juvenile Detention Center

This new facility for the Common Pleas Court of Clark County encompassed a new addition and renovations to the existing juvenille detention facility in downtown Springfield, Ohio. The second floor of 15,624 sf was completely renovated as well as approximately 80% of the first floor, or 15,144 sf, and a new 16,131 sf addition was built.

This "tight" urban site allowed for excellent staging and coordination to be displayed by the professional project team at Kapp Construction. The facility consists of new cells, new exercise areas both indoor and out, and a state of the art security system, including new fire security additions. A new courtroom and clerk rooms were also added. The office of Judge Joseph Monnin was added to the new addition, and the existing magistrate’s offices were renovated.

We at Kapp Construction are very proud to have delivered this wonderful project. We always realize that construction on an operating entity can be quite disruptive, but the staff at the court took this all in stride, making for an exceptional result.

"Thank you very much for the quality job you performed for us in renovating and adding onto our courthouse and detention center...We, the County, did not offer the contract to the low bidder but selected Kapp Construction as we believed you were the lowest and best bid. On behalf of the Clark County Juvenile Court, we have no regrets whatsoever in that selection."

Hustead Fire & EMS

The newly constructed Hustead Fire Station is a combined effort of the Mad River and Green Township Trustees to serve the safety needs of the Hustead area. This new facility allows the housing of both Fire and Emergency Medical personnel and equipment in one location. The new Fire Station is an excellent addition to serve the community. Congratulations to Mad River and Green Townships on this beautiful and functional building.

Wilmington City Building

This two-story, structural steel frame building with a composite concrete floor system was constructed to house the administrative offices of the city of Wilmington, Ohio, as well as the law enforcement offices and jail facility. Part of the challenge in Wilmington was to erect a secure facility that matched the traditional charm and décor of the downtown buildings.

The facility matches nicely with the charming downtown environment, while functioning securely for the city. The project budget was $4,750,000, which was met successfully through efficient methods of construction and management.
