Well-Child Clinic - Urbana

Kapp Construction was selected to lead the construction for this 8,500-square-foot, state of the art pediatric facility for Community Mercy Health Partners in Urbana. This beautiful brick building was designed around an ocean theme, with corrugated metal siding that mimics the hull of a boat and decorative brick accents that create the feel of waves. The goal is to create a less-threatening environment for children, putting them more at ease and comfortable with their medical care.

Providing much-needed pediatric care to the residents of Urbana and Champaign County, this new clinic will be complete with 9 exam rooms, an education conference room and 2 behavioral therapy rooms, and will be connected to Mercy Community Hospital on Scioto Street. Inside will feature specialty anti-microbial paint, detailed case work, a modern ocean-themed entry area and kid-sized fixtures throughout.

This facility will be the latest of many projects Kapp Construction has completed for the Community Mercy Health Partners. Maximum energy efficiency will be considered with each green building element incorporated and a cost/benefit analysis has been completed for each LEED element. Construction has been fast-tracked and is scheduled for completion in January of 2013.
