City View Senior Housing

Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield is pleased to partner with the City of Springfield on twelve new senior apartments on Drexel Avenue, behind the former South High School and near the gateway to Springfield's central city. Built by Kapp Construction, these apartments will be available to residents 55 years of age and older and whose incomes do not exceed 50% of the annual median income.

Each of the six duplex residence will have two bedrooms, be accessible to persons with disabilities, be highly energy efficient, and incorporate "green" environmentally friendly features.  Built on a three-and-a-half acre urban brownfield area, this project has certainly given new life and a fresh look to this revitalized Springfield neighborhood.  It has been left abandoned with partially demolished structures and debris to clean up, requireing significant undercutting and building pad development, new utility lines, abandonment of some aged and deteriorated utilities, as well as general landscaping and site improvements.
