Kapp Construction was selected by Piqua Materials to construct a new 9,600-square-foot Ag Lime building at its 350-acre gravel pit in Piqua, Ohio. With a significant need for increased production of agricultural lime in this region, this new facility has enabled Piqua Materials to increase production from 12 tons per hour to 100 tons per hour. In addition to increasing their sales territory, the farmers’ wait and loading times have decreased.

The facility is an A&S Building Systems Pre-Engineered Metal Buiding designed to house 8,000 tons of Ag Lime year-round. Most notable are the reinforced concrete end walls, 10’ on one end and 24’ on the other to support distribution through the auger. The building was erected on solid rock with tower foundations.
