TROTWOOD-MADISON TRANSPORTATION FACILITY > TROTWOOD, OHIO

As part of a 7-year rebuilding master plan with five new school buildings, Trotwood-Madison School District moved their administration building and bus garage into a vacant middle school building. The 84,000-square-foot renovation turned the former middle school into state-of-the-art office space and bus maintenance garage. An impressive 120-foot entrance canopy welcomes visitors to this newly-renovated facility, which is home to the transportation center, technology hub, and administrative offices for Trotwood-Madison City School District.

One of the more impressive features of the building is the board meeting room, which contains a floor-to-ceiling moveable glass wall system made by Modernfold®. The panels can be pushed back into wall pockets to expand the space of the room for larger events and meetings. The existing gymnasium was converted into a bus maintenance garage with a refueling island, providing ample space for the district’s 29 busses. This portion of the project was completed prior to the start of the 2010-2011 school year, with no interruption in service to the estimated 2,200 students transported each day to the district’s nine schools.
